Women's Vasque Velocity GTX

This shoe is listed as a trail runner but the main reason for me was to have a good stable hiker. I am a trail runner and thought I'd give it a try. While the shoe did have good support and stuck to the rocks well, there was no flexability (picture a duck running, feet slapping the ground) that's how it felt. Great for hiking, not so much for running.

I love my Vasque hiking and trail boots. I am able to wear them right out of the box without any break in time. This is my third pair in the last 3 years. I keep one nicer looking pair for everyday wear around town and the others are used for gardening or muddy times. I wear custom orthodics and they fit beautifully in these boots because of the removable insole. A very good supportive shoe that keeps me from rolling my feet inward and because of the narrow heel they do not slide up and down. What a convenience that I can count on each pair fitting me the same as the pair before so that I have no concerns of ordering on line. I consider myself fashionable and I am pleased with the colors available. Perfect with jeans.

I wear size 8.5 W. These boots fit comfortably, protect my feet adequately while hiking on rough rocky trails & remained waterproof during a recent walk in pouring rain. They also look good. Because of the Gortex though these boots are too warm for summer hiking but great for use during colder weather. 5 stars.
