Women's Mizuno Wave Cabrakan 3

I have had major foot surgery and these are the only shoes I have had on my feet since ... They are very comfy, sturdy, and they have great support. Good traction. I am an outdoors person and I would recommend these for any activity. I am buying another pair today…

The shoe was immediately taken out to tackle the trails in Colorado high country. I was immediately impressed with the beathability of the shoe, and while running through wet or muddy areas of the trail, my feet remained completely dry and warm. A bi-directional outsole rubber compound breaks through water and gripped quickly on the more technical terrain, allowing me to focus on the trail ahead instead of what was under my feet.

I loved the old Cabrakan 2 and bought 3 pairs. The older ones I use for extreme hiking in the high Sierra Nevada mountains, up to 17 miles per day in rugged, gnarly granite conditions. I ran a run yesterday in the NEW CABRAKAN 3 and it is clearly an even better shoe. Very dusty roads/trails and not a speck of it on my feet when I finished, yet they were not sweaty either. Even though Cabrakan 3 is lighter, I believe the toe box is roomier. I've raced, run and hiked a lot of trails and I can't imagine a better trail shoe than this one.

I really wanted these shoes to be great, and they are, just not for me. I run 60+ miles a week and race in several ultramarathons a year. I also have flat feet. That means if a shoe doesn't have lots of arch support (these don't) I need orthotics. I tried to get away without them and injured my arch. Three weeks later after I'd healed somewhat I tried them again with orthotics and the shoe volume is much too low to accommodate them, even without the factory insole. The are nice looking and I really like the laces. If you've got normal arches and are looking for a great trail runner, get these.
