These are just what they are described to be- 'ultra soft'. They have a good deal of cushioning in the heel and forefoot, which means that my feet don't hurt after several miles of running and the padded collar means that my upper heel doesn't get blisters. I like them so much I've taken to wearing them around the house on my lazy days.
