About Us

We can’t explain our passion for hiking boots, but that won’t stop us from trying. What is it about hiking boots that is so compelling, you ask? Well, for one, they certainly make getting from Point A to Point B a cinch. And putting on any old shoes for a miles-long trek just won’t cut it. Did you know 70 percent of hikers wear the wrong boots without even realizing it? If that’s not reason enough for the Hiking Boots News, then we don’t know what is.

While affiliated with online store HikingBoots.com, Hiking Boots News operates as a separate entity and abides by the SPJ Code of Ethics. Our mission is to report objectively about the outdoors gear industry and bring our readers high-quality news, editorials and entertainment.

Meet Our Editors

Katie Frasier earned a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism. She previously worked as an editor at Vox magazine and a travel writer at Southern Living. Her experience also includes a background in marketing for a fine art photography gallery.

Nora Holloway spent three years as a staff reporter for the Lincoln County Journal. She holds a degree in communications from Lindenwood University. Her byline has appeared on Patch.com, The Little Dixie Weekender, Impulse Magazine, The Troy Free Press and hospital publications such as BJC Today.

Jeanette Kozlowski holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism. Previously she worked as an editor and reporter for an international trade journal focused on the online gaming industry. Her byline has appeared on PoliceOne.com, St. Louis Magazine and Riverfront Times.
