New Balance NBx Cocona LC Socks

What makes this sock special in my mind is the sustainability angle in the use of natural materials in producing the product. The performance aspects are par to the pack for all running socks so if you are sustainability minded the New Balance Nbx Cocona socks could be the perfect fit for your running lifestyle.

What it is: A nice light compact sock which has decent cushioning. It fits my 9.5 feet very well. The wicking action of the fabric is pretty effective which is something considering I have pretty sweaty feet. As for the anti-microbial action of the sock, I'd say it's effective to some degree as I don't really notice my feet smelling super-bad like I used to. The fabric itself isn't the softest i'd had but it has been softening up as I wash it more. How it compares: I bought these socks along with the roadrunner drymax socks and I gotta say these two socks have been some of the best socks i've owned to date. The Cocona's are thinner yet have about the same cushion owing to denser fabric (which actually makes it softer/less rough). I do like that the Drymax socks have a mesh-like spread at parts on the top of the sock which helps it dry faster. The wicking and anti-odor capabilities of the socks are comparable and both excellent. I like the look of the Cocona's ankle vs. the DryMax's double-tab design. Overall I'd say the Cocona is an excellent all-purpose sock, it won't be as soft as some wool socks and may not dry as quickly as some but i am very happy with my purchase.
