About Pearl Izumi
- Pearl Izumi designs shoes for a rare breed of individuals called runners. Are runners an endangered species? Whether its track or trail runners, Pearl Izumi believes so. That's why its shoes aren't just made to look good but to go fast. The Japanese company all started when a father set out to provide his son the best gear for bicycle racing. The brand made its way stateside in the early 80s providing sponsorship dollars to bike teams. Nowadays, Pearl Izumi builds products for many high-endurance sports including cross-country skiing, triathlon, running, and, of course, cycling.

Great water proofing!

Love PI shoes! The water proof upper is great. The midsole is a little stiff though.

Most comfortable shoe I have put on right out of the box. I tried several Salomon shoes, attempting to talk myself into them, but they were too stiff and "loud" looking. This is a very comfortable and sleek looking shoe. I don't live in a rainy climate, but it I do go out in the snow for which they have been working fine. When I first tied them up and drove into the mountains my feet "fell asleep", but I have higher arches. I'm sure once they are fully broken in they will be great in all ways

Did a 7-mile run in the snow the day I received them. Feet were dry and warm and the shoes have good traction. These are less stiff than previous generations of Pearl Izumi shoes. My size 13s are somewhat narrow - a good thing for me.
