Men's Merrell Moab Mid WP

bought a pair of Merrell Moab mid waterproof boots after seeing them in a sporting goods store in Montana. I was enroute to the central Idaho mountains to hike, camp and fish. I did many, many miles of hiking and thousands of feet in elevation and these brand new boots felt like they were part of my feet the whole time. They felt broke-in right out of the box. One day I fished Idahos 9500' Washington lake and my feet were in water most all day while casting for trout. At day's end I removed them to find perfectly dry socks! Outstanding product that should last and last.

Currently deployed to Afghanistan and these boots are just amazing, they fit perfect and felt broke in right out of the box. I would recomend these boots to anyone and would definately buy another pair in a heartbeat.

Im looking for a pair of waterproof boots. I bought 2 pairs of these in 2008, his and hers'. We found both very comfortable right out of the box. Hers' are still in good shape. Mine leaked water in both boots not long after purchasing them. I trashed them last summer after the side of the right boot separated at the sole on the outside just below the toe area. These were so comfortable that I'd like to try another pair. But, I see that another review had similar waterproof concerns.

I like this product and have been a loyal Merrell user for about a decade now. As I get older and counterintuitively, more active, I've noticed a need for more arch support in my footwear. When I buy Merrell's, I immediately throw out the factory insole and buy an after-market product. The people who sold me that insole mentioned that major shoe manufacturers have given up on high quality insoles because the after-market ones are of high quality and can be customized for individual fit. In my experience, high quality insoles help provide a proper arch and heel support and complement the otherwise high quality of the shoe to make for prolonged used of the product. With proper insoles, I also don't get the tired beaten-up feet at the end of the day.

I could trek in these things all day, and have many times before. Absolutely, these are some of the most comfortable hiking boots on the market. I wouldn't go into the wilderness or rain without them. My feet feel well-supported, well ventilated, and well-cushioned for the long-haul. The waterproof gore-tex works like a charm, and the Vibram soles really bite into the ground. I would definitely purchase these again, but I probably won't have to for years.

Merell's are comfortable right out of the box. They really hold up well and I finally replaced a pair that I have been wearing for three years now. They are not worn out, only a little scruffy looking from daily use. I will definitely be purchasing another pair in a few years when these get a little scruffy from daily use. Do your feet a favor and get yourself a pair of these boots, you wont be disappointed.
