Men's Hi-Tec V-Lite Altitude Ultra WPi

I found out that the way the moisture wick technology works best in the Hi-Tec V-Lite is if you wear a sock that allows moisture to wick as well.. Ordinary cotton socks will just trap the moisture in the boot. Its necessary to wear socks with a blend of Cotton/Polyester/Spandex. Mine are from Croft & Barrow, which i picked up at Khols. I have had the opportunity to use this pair of boots outdoors in the winter in snow and rain. I have to say that its very excellent with the way it kept me warm, with super sure grip on the uneven terrain even when it snowed and there was bits of ice with slush, and it wicked away all the moisture. If you will need to walk a lot you may want to add some gel insoles otherwise its fine as is. Happy trails!

The features of this boots are really neat.. and works well..waterproof, light weight, high traction out sole, mildly comfortable given the mild arch support and the thin/compressed sock linker. However, the breathe ability I have found is lacking.. such that my feet become clammy and feels wet. When I slip my feet out of the boot, the socks are wet at the end of the day and that's on dry days. I had expected better breathe ability from the ion mask mesh..which is supposed to be a kind of advanced Gore-Tex material.

I purchased these hiking boots for work. I am a paramedic and am required to wear black shoes/boots that can be polished. I am an avid boy scouter and enjoy hiking boots. Initially I was concerned about my online purchase since this was the only black hiking boot I found that I could polish. My concerns were quickly abolished after receiving this product. They are comfortable, fit perfect and work great on all surfaces. Following my first 12 hour shift wearing these boots, I did not notice any aches or pains from breaking them in. It was like I have worn them for months. I have recommended these boot for other medics in our community and would recommend these to anyone in the EMS field. Extremely comfortable, waterproof, works well on all terrains and surfaces, cleans up great. Best pair of work boots I have purchased in my 16 years in the EMS field.

I was looking for a black, light-weight hiking boot for an upcoming trip to Europe. From the photo and the reviews, these seemed like they would fit the bill. I love the look of them. They were comfortable out of the box. I have been wearing them on weekends, to make sure they were right for the trip. I live in NYC, and so walk quite a lot. What I have found is that the longer I walk in them, the less comfortable they become. Just walked about 50 blocks on errands, and have swung back by my apartment to change shoes. They will not be going on the trip with me. I will wear them on weekends when it is raining or snowing, and I don't have much walking to do, as they are nicely-proofed and well-tractioned. However, I am still tasked with finding appropriate footwear for traveling ...

As other reviewers have indicated, the fit and comfort of these boots is excellent, also maintains good water resistance even with prolonged exposure to wet environment. My only complaint is that the relatively soft leather gets scratched and scraped easily, not just scuffs but actual scratches into the leather itself, especially in the toe region. Would not recommend these for rough trails if you care what they look like afterwords.
