  • 5 out of 5 When I bought these boots my mentality was, "If I'm spending this much money on a pair of boots they had better last FOREVER and go ANYWHERE!" I've only had these boots a couple of months, so I cannot yet comment on how long they last but they are waterproof, and they do go anywhere. I did a two-night hike which included going over Roan Mountain, TN where I put these boots through snow, ice, mud, leaves, pine needles, roots (both wet and dry), rocks (both wet and dry), dirt, gravel, grass, and every combination above--and I do mean EVERY combination. These boots held their own! Even on slick, wet, rugged descents when my dog yanked the leash right as I took a step, these boots kept great traction. If you face the same dilemma I went through where you can find the TPS in stores, but you can't find a store with the Power Matic in stock anywhere, go into a brick-and-mortar store and try on the TPS. The TPS is the same sizing as the Power Matic so you can just order your size online. The Power Matic is definitely worth it! The arch support is noticeably more prominent in the Power Matic than in the TPS but the way the arch support is constructed in the Power Matic will force your feet into a proper gait and stride--especially with YOUR TOES POINTED FORWARD! If you walk with your toes pointed inward or if you walk to with your toes pointed outward , then your feet will throw a fit. Once you point your toes forward and assume a proper gait and stride then these boots will be one of the most comfortable boots you'll ever wear. The micro-pulley system is great for keeping even pressure around the foot. These boots do take some time to break-in, but all boots do. I read many reviews talking about how the toes scuff easily. The scuff marks don't change the functionality of the boot. If you are the kind of person who does not like to get your hiking boots dirty, these are not the boots for you.

  • 2 out of 5 Width wise they run about two sizes smaller than stated. While an OK boot, only about one half as good as Outdoor books write them up to be.

  • I love these shoes!

  • 5 out of 5 I need the wide width especially in the toe box. I spent three years on my first pair in an aggressive environment. Boots are still good but soles are finally wearing down so I ordered another pair. They are comfortable and provide good support for hiking on uneven terrain.

  • This is a beautiful boot.

  • 5 out of 5 Having hiked in it for a year now, I can say that it has not disappointed me. I needed a serious boot for rough mountain backing over long trips. This boot cradles my foot. Unfortunately, one of my feet is smaller than the other, resulting in heel blisters on the smaller foot. I am now finding that 3 socks on that foot, along with really cinching down the laces has solved the problem. I give this a 5 star rating.

  • 5 out of 5 You get what you pay for with these boots. I got 2 pairs of these for my game 2006 through a hike. The first pair got me to Vermont. The 2nd pair got me to Maine and I still wear them to this day almost 5 years later. They have roller eyelets. so the strings pull equal all the way up when you tie them (no tight spots) with the brass rollers in mind they are on the heavy side. but not heavy like most. also know the first pair that I wore out. Not a single stitch come loose. Only the bottoms worn flat.

  • Overall, an excellent boot.

  • 4 out of 5 I've had my boots for about 2 months and they have been excellent so far. I've hiked 10+ mile days with them in snow, ice, rocks and mud. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box as others have said. I wear a 14D and they fit perfectly. 1 minor drawback..the insoles. They are not good at all, but easily replaced. I would recommend these boots to anyone who can appreciate them.

  • The lacing system is ingenious.

  • 5 out of 5 After about one month of pretty constant wear, these are by far the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. They were a perfect fit right out of the box and required minimal break-in. I also added a pair of green Superfeet. The only limitation were the laces, which weren't up to par in terms of strength. So, I swapped them out and now have the perfect boots!
