  • 5 out of 5 After a minimal break in I tried these out on a trail that has always given me at least one blister, not this time. I was carrying a 35 pound pack and overall we hiked 20 miles. My feet never got as hot as my last pair and the support is great while not being to stiff. Great Boot!

  • 5 out of 5 These feel great right out of the box. Fit great, great traction. Definitely the best hiking boots i've owned. Just wish they didn't cost so much. But what do you expect when you buy the latest & greatest.

  • 5 out of 5 I wear this boot while hiking and backpacking around Santa Barbara, and also wore it for a week out in Yosemite/Hetch Hetchy. It requires virtually no breaking in and feels more like a shoe than a boot. I can actually run pretty freely in these and they aren't too heavy or clunky at all. I haven't gotten any blisters from it (and I got TONS from my last pair) and it takes quite a few miles before I even feel any hotspots. The grip and stability are both excellent. Waterproofing has held up superbly (streams, rain, and snow so far) and the materials it's made of are super tough. I really do love these boots, could wear them all the time. Yes, they're quite expensive, but when you're doing uphill miles with a 35-40 lb. pack, you won't regret it.

  • 5 out of 5 My unit authorized us to where these along with our normally issued "mountain/hiking" boots. I went back to Alaska for my pre deployment leave and went to an outdoors store that had them on sale. I tried on my normal boot size and noticed they ran a half size big (i normally wear a size 9) unlucky that they had my size I ordered them online. Once I got back to Germany I asked if we were authorized to wear them in garrison. As soon as I put these boots on they felt GREAT, no need to break them in at all. Now I am currently forward deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF 11-12 and i wear these boots everyday! My feet do not sweat as much as the BATES I was issued and are way lighter too. I seriously love these boots and would recommend them to anyone

  • If I would let them my feet would marry these

  • 5 out of 5 After a light 4 mile hike I stare at a rushing glacial river fed by Herbert Glacier. No stepping stones bridged this river so I pick a narrow gap between the two sides and take a running leap. The gap is 6 ft wide and drops into fast flowing icy water but I am wearing my brand new Morans. The surprisingly light shoes make the jump easy. Next up is a chossy scramble traversing a 45 degree slope to the glacier. The ankle support and tight lacing system keeps me up right while the solid sole provides all the traction I could ever need. After making it to the glacier, I find the source of the river leads under the glacier to a blue ice cave. As I step through the water the treated suede and nylon don't even absorb a drop. After about 8+ long hiking sessions in SE Alaska where it rains constantly and treading through standing water was frequent the suede finally began to take in water slowly but the Gore-tex still kept my feet unbelievably dry even in 5 inches of standing water. On my way back from the glacier hoping over rugged terrain on the communal trail I feel assured I finally found a pair of hiking boots that not only can keep up with me but help me excel in many conditions. I normally wear a 41.5 size shoe and love these in a 8. A word of caution: once you go Asolo you may never want to hike in anything else.

  • 5 out of 5 These are bar none the best boots I have ever had, they do run a half size bigger so I had to go down to 9.5, I am assigned to the mountains of Afghanistan and walk up and down mountains on a daily basis. In short awesome boots.

  • 5 out of 5 I'm very happy with the boots. After walking 40+ miles on tough rocky terrain, I can clean them off and they show no abuse. I may have paid a lot, but I'll get my moneys worth with durability. And I must say they are extremely comfortable and light weight.

  • 5 out of 5 I wore these boots in the mountains and valleys of Afghanistan during a period of almost six months. I did lots of hiking and these were the only boots I used. They held up very well, they were comfortable, and they were sturdy and trustworthy. I recommend them highly to anyone looking to do serious hiking on rough terrain. I'm not sure how they do in cold weather, in hot weather your feet do sweat a bit, but it didn't cause me much trouble. I didn't get any blisters from them and they keep water out quite well. They do have fairly high arches. Other than that they are great. Highly recommended.
